Reflections in History

Specializing in the History, Photography, and
Signature Habits of Lyndon B. Johnson

From his early years as a young Congressman
and Senator through the years of his Presidency,
Lyndon B. Johnson remains a fascinating study in
personality, power, and politics.

1950’s Signature Examples

Similar to autograph examples from the 1940’s, signatures from the 1950’s are also reasonably plentiful and available. Like the 1940’s, one of challenges for this time period is determining authentic signatures from those signed by an aide or a  secretary. To add to the complexities, around 1957 the Autopen machine was put into use. As stated before, it is my humble opinion signatures from the 1940’s and 1950’s are the most frequently misinterpreted by collectors.

Should you have a Lyndon Johnson signed item from this decade, I would love to see it and add it to the database of known examples.
